So we don't know what's coming as the result of our recent election. If we are to believe the rhetoric, there is some cause to be concerned for our planet and for many of its inhabitants. So often though, what is said and what is actually done are quite disparate, and one person, no matter how powerful, never has true control over people or events. Each of us, though, as an individual, does have the power to help protect the planet and to make the world kinder, more inclusive and safer.
I think this list of the Native American Ten Commandments that we got from the St. Labre Indian School pretty much covers what an individual person can do to make the world a better place. I keep it at my writing desk and read it several times a day. It encourages me and reminds me that there is much that is within my power.
